1. Who are the Mission Medical Group Physicians?
Mission Physicians are local, community physicians who are interested in developing a practice dedicated to long-term care. These physicians are board certified/eligible internists experienced in caring for the geriatric population. Mission Physicians do not see patients in an office or the hospital-they are focused exclusively on seeing patients in skilled nursing facilities.
2. What is special about Mission Medical Group physicians?
Mission Physicians are focused on caring for patients in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. They do not have office practices, so they are more available to work with your staff to meet the needs of your residents. Mission physicians visit your facility during normal working hours, and will respond to pages after hours within 15 minutes. Mission physicians can help your facility to provide high-quality cost-effective care to your residents.
3. What is the cost to using Mission Physicians? How do they get paid?
There is no cost to the facility to use a Mission Medical Group physician. Similar to the physicians who currently see patients in your facility, Mission physicians do their own billing.
4. How quickly can a Mission Medical Group physician be available to care for patients in my facility?
In most cases, a Mission Medical Group physician is available within 30 days to begin caring for patients in your facility.
5. How do Mission physicians work with area hospitals?
In most cases, Mission physicians work with "hospitalists" at area hospitals to care for patients requiring hospital services. Hospitalists are physicians who care for patients primarily in the hospital setting. For hospitals that do not have a formal hospitalist program, Mission physicians will work with physicians in the community who have active hospital practices.
